Please be sure to attend the TA session from the Learning Commons.
Learning Commons has some great programs for becoming a better TA (https://www.yorku.ca/teachingcommons/). They also put on a series of teaching and remote learning strategies.
If you are interested in further developing your teaching skills, TACT – TA Certificate in Teaching (TACT) Course and the senior version is the course for you. Many CDS grad students have found these helpful.
One is assigned a TA position for the whole year, or a combination of half-year courses and some marker and grader positions. The marker and grader positions can generally be done remotely.
There are also Research Assistant (RA) and Graduate Assistant (GA) position. The difference between the two are explained in this union post.
All these are accessed via the job board on the CUPE Website (https://cupejobs.uit.yorku.ca/)
